Malibran
theatre
The Malibran theatre was
built in 1677 on the site of the house of
Marco Polo. Rebuilt and inaugurated in 2001,
it now
hosts performances of some of the most beautiful
Italian operas, from Giuseppe Verdi like
the “Traviata”, “Nabucco”, “Falstaf”, “Trovatore”, “Aida” as
well as operas from Bellini and Wagner. This "teatro" has
hosted for a long time the lighter varieties
of theatre in Venice, with representations
of comedy and "light" tragedy.
